HCM CITY — With double-digit growth annually, Việt Nam has a promising cosmetics industry for foreign firms seeking to expand overseas, experts have said.

HCM CITY — The Vietnamese beauty market saw stable growth last year, with a year-on-year increase of 4 per cent, and is expected to thrive in the years to come.


 

The beauty and cosmetics retail market in Vietnam has been estimated to be worth US$1.7 billion annually, a figure that will likely reach US$2.35 billion by 2018, according to market research company Mintel.

 

Chanel has opened its first dedicated cosmetics and perfume boutique in Vietnam.

VietNamNet Bridge - Reports from the Trade Map of ITC (International Trade Center) and the World Bank show that Vietnam imported $500 million worth of cosmetics in 2011 and $1.1 billion in 2016, while the figure is expected to double by 2020 to $2.2 billion.
